The countdown to Faculty Academy 4.0 is ticking along. Recognizing that we wanted to document, document, document this event, we took a page from Penn State’s Teaching & Learning with Technology Symposium and set up our own conference blog. (Thanks to D’Arcy Norman for pointing out the Penn State example in the first place.)
In addition [...]
Archive for the 'Projects' Category
As THEA435 wraps up (we’ll be gathering this evening to watch students’ final projects), I thought I’d take a moment to post this image.
This is a scan of a scrap of paper on which I took notes during a meeting with Andy and Jerry last fall. The notes grew out of a conversation in which [...]

A Conversation with Gregg Stull
Published by April 20th, 2006 in Podcasts, Projects and THEA435. 0 CommentsLast week, Jerry Slezak, Andy Rush, and I sat down with Gregg Stull to talk about the status of the Theatre 435 project. We recorded the interview, and a podcast of that conversation is attached.
The audio isn’t perfect (a cell phone interrupts at one point and the air-conditioning came on for a strange, 10-second burst [...]

Each year, the Collective does a concert where they play back the compositions they created that semester. I attended this concert [...]
Digital storytelling. . .and beyond?
Published by March 20th, 2006 in Projects and THEA435. 5 CommentsLast week, the students in THEA435 returned from New York with many hours of iRiver-ed audio content, several tapes of video footage, and tons of digital photos. This past week, they’ve been working on uploading all of that content into the Content Gallery. They’ve also been busy tagging their group map with information about [...]
Here is just a quick post for the Theater 435 students who have just come back from an amazing journey to New York City. It is now time to focus on the narrative part of the course, and these students have been transformed this semester into digitally fluent storytellers, at least based on the evidence [...]
No, this image has not been Photoshop-ed
Published by March 8th, 2006 in Projects and THEA435. 1 CommentYep, that’s four of the students from THEA435 with Meryl Streep. They got a couple of pictures with her after they stalked the stage door for Bridge and Tunnel. Too bad they couldn’t get her to agree to a podcast
I’m officially jealous.
It seems like just yesterday we were teaching them about wikis and the fundamentals of RSS. The next thing we know they’re posting to their blogs from a hotel in Florida.
The kids — they grow up so quickly these days. . .
